About
Nestled in the charming town of Latham, Kansas, Latham Saloon offers an authentic American dining experience that few can rival. Located at 226 W Blaine St, this quaint eatery captures the essence of small-town hospitality and culinary excellence.
As you step into Latham Saloon, you are greeted with a warm atmosphere that draws you in. The decor reflects a true cowboy spirit, and the patrons—mostly local ranchers and cowboys—add to the saloon's authentic vibe. The sense of community is palpable, making it a perfect spot for anyone looking to indulge in hearty meals while mingling with friendly locals.
One of the standout features of Latham Saloon is their exceptional menu, which has received glowing reviews from diners. Teresa Vuoso raved about the burger, claiming it was the best she’s ever had. Cooked to perfection, it exemplifies the meticulous attention to detail that defines the kitchen's approach. This isn't just a meal; it's a testament to the culinary craftsmanship of the saloon’s chefs.
If you're in the mood for something light and crisp, be sure to try the fried catfish, praised by Rebecca Wilson, who describes it as delicious. Accompanied by a top-notch Latham Club sandwich, it epitomizes the local "good grub" sentiment embraced by patrons. And don’t forget the cold beverages; the saloon's selection enhances the overall experience.
Latham Saloon also shines on weekends with their steak offerings, as highlighted by Randy Mayo. The consistent quality of their dishes assures diners that every visit will be met with satisfaction. Whether you are feasting on steak or indulging in the three-meat special offered on select days, each dish promises hearty flavors that cater to all appetites.
Moreover, the journey to the saloon can be just as delightful as the food itself. Happy Soul beautifully captures this sentiment, describing the picturesque drive down SE Stony Creek Road that adds to the overall experience. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a journey into Americana, where guests can reflect on the scenic beauty as they savor homemade delights, like the unforgettable apple pie.

“ Went here for lunch and everything was perfect. The service was quick. Prices affordable. Best of all the burger was the best I have ever had anywhere. It was cooked to perfection. ”
“ Best restaurant in Latham! If you are looking for a true small town eatery, don't miss this stop. The fried catfish was delicious and the Latham Club sandwich was too notch. Cold suds and good grub. ”
“ To reach the Latham Saloon I took the wondrous SE Stony Creek Road, off US Route 400. If you like off-the-beaten-path Americana, the Saloon meets the standard. (Latham's population is 100 /-, so neither traffic nor parking is an issue.) Once inside the Saloon, I was warmly greeted, took a seat at the bar, and was promptly served. Though "good food" is based on personal preferences, I will say, for me, the August 8, 2024 hot three-meat special was well worth the journey from the "nearby" Beaumont Hotel. And the sunset motorcycle ride back on SE Stony Creek Road was as delicious as the homemade apple pie I took back to the hotel. ”
“ Great place to get a Saturday evening steak. Food is very consistent. Real cowboy atmosphere because most of the patrons are real cowboys/ranchers. Chad provides multiple cusines during the week. ”
“ One of the best burgers I’ve had at any price. Worth going out of your way for. ”
“ I was headed to the nearby lake to camp for a night and stopped here for a late lunch/early supper. I had the special and didn't realize how hungry I was. I chatted with the owner who is a real friendly guy. He also cooked my food. Very affordable eats. ”
“ No matter the type of food, we can always count on flavor and value. Their Saturday Steak Night consistently delivers on some of the best Kansas raised Rib Eyes we have ever eaten. The staff is always friendly and prompt. Anytime we can make the drive, we head that way. Doesn't matter if it is for their Italian Night, Chicken Fried Steak Night, Mexican Night, or even Crawfish Boil...we know the food will be full of flavor! ”
“ Drove an hour for steak night. It's dang good too! ”
